Definitions
- the invention concerns systems for making sheets for use simultaneously as sheets for written messages and for the envelope from continuous forms.
- Said continuous form is divided up-into equal parts by crosswise lines also prepared for easy tear-off.
- Each of said parts makes a form for a telegram or cabled money order divided up, by means of tear-off lines trans ⁇ versal to the continuous form, into three zones of equal width .
- the first zone on the front side of said form is used for the address and for a receipt for he user.
- On the second and third zones of said front side there are glueing means on both the upper and lower margins and in the lateral bands while, on the back side, the first and second zones have glueing means on the upper and lower margins respectively and on the right-hand lateral band. Therefore, by folding inwards the second and third zones of the form's front side one against the other, said zones will be held in that position by the glueing means. When folded outwards and against the second zone, the first zone will adhere to the second and so form the closed front face of the telegram or cabled money order.
- An intermediate longitudinal tear-off line divides the first zone of the form's front face into two parts. The part on the left of said line is used for the address and the part on the right forms the receipt signed by the consignee on receiving the telegram or money order.
- glueing means extend from the right-hand edge of the form to the intermediate longitu ⁇ dinal tear-off line referred to above;
- the first zone adheres, on the back side, to the second zone at the left-hand side of the form, while the right-hand side, forming the receipt, remains attached to the form only by two lines, one longitudinal and one trans ⁇ versal tear-off line made corner-wise, so that when the consignee has signed, the postman can tear said receipt off the form to give to the consignee.
- the glueing means consist of strips of strong glue for stable closure applied to the parts that will lie over one another on folding the form and, coming in contact, will hold together.
- the form is best used as a telegram by observing the fol ⁇ lowing stages :
- the continuous form when used as a cabled money order has three continuous longitudinal perforated strips two of these being lateral and one intermediate.
- the intermediate strip divides the continuous form into two longitudinal sections to create * , in addition to the form marked off by two lateral perforated strips for the user, another form as well, having one side in common with the first form and having a longitudinal perforated strip at its outer edge, to be used by the Mail Service for its records .
- This second form is prepared so as to show the data ne ⁇ cessary for filing purposes especially boxes and lines for the amount in digits and in letters, lines to show the paying office and, given its position alongside the first form and its connection by a continuous line adjacent to the first form's lateral tear-off strip, per ⁇ mits automatic detachment from the first form and auto ⁇ matic filing.
- the second zone of the first form used to cable a money order allows space for the endorsement needed for a cabled money order.
- the invention offers obvious advantages.
- a continuous form can be so divided up as to produce forms for telegrams or for cabling money orders at the same time acting as an envelope thus considerably simplifying all related operations.
- Times are greatly shortened since, having once written the message and other indications on one side of the form, it has merely to be detached from the continuous form and folded up. Signing the receipt is made quick and easy.
- automati ⁇ cally detachable from the continuous form is also quick and easy.
- the work of the postal authorities is simplified and ex- cuted with greater security providing considerable func- tional and economic advantages.

- the continuous form 10 has longitudinal lateral lines 11 and 12 prepared for tear-off which create the longitudi ⁇ nal edge strips 20 containing holes 25 and the adjacent internal bands 21 and 22 for glueing means, and further has the transversal tear-off lines 13 equally spaced from which originate the similar forms 15.
- said forms 15 show three transversal zones A B C marked off by pairs of short lines 16 and 17 at the edges . Close to the upper margin of zone B and on the inner la- teral strips 21 and 22 are glued areas 30 31 and 32.
- zones A and B there is a transversal tear-off line 40 that extends as far as the start of a longitudinal tear-off line 41 lying about halfway across the contin ⁇ uous form 10 and extending up to the higher margin of zone A and thus dividing zone A into sections a and b.
- a transversal tear-off line 40 that extends as far as the start of a longitudinal tear-off line 41 lying about halfway across the contin ⁇ uous form 10 and extending up to the higher margin of zone A and thus dividing zone A into sections a and b.
- On the back side (Fig. 2) of said forms 15 are three trans versal zones A' B' and C' corresponding to zones A, B and C already indicated.
- the form laid out as described permits compilation to be carried out on its front side only as seen in Fig. 3, putting the address 49 of the consignee in section (a) of zone A and the message 50 in zones B and C.
- the form is best closed by folding zone B over zone C at the short lines 17, and zone A' against zone B' at short lines 16 and at the tear-off line 40 (Fig. 4).
- the continuous form 55 for cabled money orders (Fig.10) has two longitudinal sections, section I and section II, marked off by the continuous line 62 and the longitudinal sets 63 64 and 65 of perforations 66.
- Sets of perforations 63 and 65 lie at the outer longitu ⁇ dinal edges of the sections I and II.
- Set of perforations 64 lies at the inner edge. of section I. Close to the two longitudinal edges of section I are the respective pairs of prepared tear-off lines 70-71 and
- Form 57 for the user, is virtually the same as form 15 for telegrams already described, and is divided, by the transversal tear-off lines 76 * and 77 into transversal zones A, B and C of the same size.
- zone A there is a longitudinal tear-off line 78 about halfway across said zone, said line forming sections a) and b) .
- zone A of the forms 57 here described are the words cabled money order 90, the words "BANCOPOSTA Italian post office” 91, the brand mark 92 for the postal service as a whole, and the brand mark 93 for the "BANCOPOSTA” service.
- Zone B includes boxes 94 and line 95 for expressing in fi ⁇ gures and in letters the sum of the cabled money order, and lines 96 and 97 respectively for sender and consignee.
- Form 58 to be used by the postal authorities for filing, includes boxes 98 and line 99 for expressing in figures and in letters the sum sent by cabled money order.
- the space marked 100 in zone B contains lines for the sender's message.
- Zone B' of form 57 contains the word ENDORSEMENT 65 with a space below for the signature. Having fully compiled forms 57 and 58, the filing part 58 is automatically detached for the authorities' files. Form 57, with its three zones A B and C,is detached and sent to the consignee as explained for form 15 for tele ⁇ grams (Figs. 1 - 9). The various stages are illustrated in Figs. 13 - 17.
- the consignee detaches section 105 in zone B by tearing along the tear-off lines 76 77 (Fig. 19).
- the endorsement may be made in the space 106 on the back (Fig. 20).
