Definitions
- This invention relates to a twin-knob mixer tap device.
- the conventional taps have some disadvantages. For example, most of the taps, without further specific division, have one handle to control more than one function and are not very convenient to use.
- twin-knob mixer tap device comprising two knobs.
- Knob A at the left-hand side of the mixer tap device is adapted to regulate the water temperature.
- Knob B at the right—hand side of the mixer tap device is adapted to control the water volume.
- Each of them has a graduated disc thereon, by which you can regulate the water flow and temperature within half turn of the knobs.
- FIG. 1 shows the side view of a twin—knob mixer tap device according to this invention.
- FIG. 2 shows the plain figure of application of such a twin-knob mixer tap device to a basin in a bathroom according to this invention.
- FIG. 3A shows the schematic drawing of the water flow route in a twin- knob mixer tap device according to this invention.
- FIG. 4 shows the sectional drawing of a twin-knob mixer tap device according to this invention.
- FIG. 5 shows the detail drawing of the temperature control mechanism in such a twin-knob mixer tap device according to this invention.
- FIG. 6A—B show the detail drawings of the water flow control mechanism in such a twin—knob mixer tap device according to this invention.
- FIG. 7A-B show the sectional drawings of the other form of the twin- knob mixer tap device according to this invention.
- the hot and cold water flows into the mixer tap device from water inlets 4 and 5, then the water is mixed and flows out from a water outlet 6.
- a single unitary body is formed to convey two taps, a mixing tap and an isolating tap.
- the knob A which connects with a moving vertical plug 9 having a ring 10 there ⁇ on by a transmission wheel 8 having a thread thereon, controls the mixer tap at one end of the unitary body.
- the plug 9 working on the thread which blocks a water inlet 4 from top when moving downward to the bottom of the mixer tap device and blocks the other water inlet 5 when moving upward to the upper cover 3 by the ring 10 which holds a projection llof the water inlet 5, is adapted to control the mixing ahd allow the hot and cold water flow to be mixed before being turned on or shut off.
- the knob A is adapted to regulate the water tempera— ture.
- the transmission wheel 8 is turned accordingly, which causes the plug 9 moving up and down to give the best temperature of the mixed water.
- the knob A can regulate the water temperature and allow the mixture setting to remain set in its chosen position within half turn of the knob A.
- the knob B which connects with a ceramic disc 7 by a rod 1 throughout the cover 3, controls the isolating tap at the other end of the unitary body.
- the ceramic disc 7 comprising two ground ceramic disc plates, one fixed and one moving, each of them has a semicircular hole thereon and 180 degrees apart. When you turn the knob B, these two holes are brought into alignment to allow a flow of water.
- the knob B is adapted to regulate the water flow by turning the ceramic disc 7 to control the volume of water within half turn of the knob B.
- a water division plate 13 is adapted to separate the hot and cold water flows in from water inlets 4 and 5, and lead them to the isolating tap where a quarter-turn ceramic disc 14 is applied.
- a hot water safeguard device comprising a projection 12 can be mounted in the mixer tap device to make sure that a little cold water is always mixed in with the hot.
