Abstract
A water faucet discharge hole switching valve is disclosed, and the switching valve is stored within the connecting member of the water faucet. A supporting portion and a guiding portion are formed at a position where discharge passages (5, 5a) are joined to an injecting passage, and a blocking member is connected to the lower end of a pin shaft on which a spring is installed. A connecting member (12) is coupled with the lower end of an adjusting rod (11), with the pin shaft being installed within the connecting member (12), and upper and lower discharge holes (13, 14) are closed or opened by the blocking member. According to the present invention, the water flow direction can be switched in a simple manner.
Description
Description Title of the invention
WATER FAUCET DISCHARGE HOLE SWITCHING VALVE Field of the invention The present invention relates to a water faucet discharge hole switching valve which is capable of switching the water flow in a water faucet. Background of the invention
In the ordinary water faucets, some of them use adjusting handles which are to be turned to obtain discharge of water, while others use lever type devices. Therefore, manual adjustments have to be carried out, and gushers and shower devices have to be used. Therefore, the troublesome manual turning of the handle has to be carried out, and when a showering is to be performed, a connecting hose has to be attached, because water is discharged through a single conduit.
Meanwhile, in the lever type device, if a water discharge is to be obtained, the lever has to be switched, while if the discharge direction of water is to be changed, the lever has to be switched over again. That is, after performing a shower, if an ordinary form of water discharge is wanted, the lever has to be switched over again. Summary of the invention
The present invention is intended to overcome the above described disadvantages of the conventional devices. Therefore it is the object of the present invention to
provide a water faucet in which a valve is installed within the connecting member of the water faucet in such a manner as to be actuated by a spring and by the water pressure, so that the valve has to be manually adjusted
5 only when performing a shower, and that water should be gushed only through the main hole, thereby promoting the convenience in using the water faucet. Brief description of the drawings The above object and other advantages of the present
-**-0 invention will become more apparent by describing in detail the preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings in which: Figure 1 is a partially sectional view of the critical portion of the device according to the present invention;
15 and
Figure 2 further illustrates the device of Figure 1, showing a state in which the switching valve is elevated.
Description of the preferred embodiment
The device of the present invention is constituted such
20 that: a switching valve 3 is installed within a connecting member 20 which is connected to a body 2 of a water faucet 1; an injection passage 4 and discharge passages 5,5a are connected each other by providing a supporting portion 6 and a guiding portion 7; a blocking member 10 is attached
25 to the lower end of a pin shaft 9 on which a spring 8 is concentrically installed; a connecting member 12 accommodating the pin shaft 9 is attached to the body 2 by threadably coupling it with an adjusting rod 11; and
discharge holes 13,14 are provided so as for the blocking member 10 to move up and down within the discharge holes 13,14.
In the drawings, reference code 15 indicates a discharge hie, 16 an adjusting handle, and 17 a connecting hose.
The device of the present invention constituted as above is operated in a manner described below. That is, in a state with the spring 8 damped by the water pressure, the blocking member 10 closes the discharge hole 14, and if the adjusting rod 11 is manually pulled, the blocking member 10 is lifted. When water is let to be discharged through the discharge hole 15 at normal times, the hot and cool waters are mixed within the body 2, and the mixed water passes through the injecting passage 4 of the connecting member 20 and the upper discharge hole 13 to the discharge hole 15, thereby enabling to obtain a water supply. Meanwhile, if the shower device is to be used, the adjusting rod 11 is pulled so as for the blocking member 10 to close the discharge hole 13, so that water should flow from the injecting passage 4 to the connecting hose 17 of the shower device, thereby making it possible to perform a shower.
That is, as shown in Figure 2 in which the adjusting rod 11 is pulled upwardly, if the adjusting rod 11 is pulled upwardly, then the pin shaft 9 which is installed within the spring 8 and within the connecting member 20, is moved upwardly in order to lift the blocking member 10. Therefore, the discharge hole 13 is blocked, and the
advancing direction of water is switched over, thereby leading the water to the shower device.
Meanwhile, after the completion of a shower, the spring 8 is restored to the original position owing to the water pressure, and therefore, the blocking member 10 is naturally lowered to close the discharge hole 14. Therefore, even if the adjusting handle 16 is turned thereafter, water is discharged only through the discharge hole 15, while if the shower device is to be used, the adjusting rod 11 has to be pulled again.
That is, the blocking member 10 which is connected to the pin shaft 9 is lowered by being pushed by the spring 8, and the spring 8 is activated upon being restored by the water pressure. According to the present invention as described above, water is discharged only through the discharge hole 15 at normal times, and if the shower device is to be used, the adjusting rod 11 has to be pulled, the switching being done in a simple manner. Further, the device of the present invention makes it possible to save water consumpption, rarely causes disorders owing to its simple structure, and the water flow direction can be switched over in a simple manner.
