Abstract

The speed gear consists of a plurality of rings (5) always taking and rotating by means of multitoothed satellites (3) with the axis (1) of the engine, and provided with means for blocking said rings (5) and for making them still with respect to the frame and to translate the rotation to the parallel plates (2), which are connected to the wheels.

Description

"A MECHANICAL SPEED GEAR FOR MOVING ELEMENTS"
The present invention concerns a new speed gear for moving ele¬ ments that may applied - among other possibilities - to the me- chanical transmission of vehicles and similar.
It is already well known that the conventional speed gears must be provided with synchronizers which are rather complex and the¬ refore expensive and easy to breake.
It is the aim of the present invention to realize a speed gear between moving elements that might eliminate the presence of the synchronizers and furthermore makes the remaining transmis¬ sion elements easier and less in number - like the friction clutch and the fly-wheel, so as to reduce also the encumbrance and the weight.
The aim set forth is reached by means of the speed gear accord¬ ing to the present invention, comprising a single inlet for the rotating movement coming from the engine and showing, at the outlet, a plurality of speeds being always present all together and at the same time, and each one of these speeds is let to the use according to the requests.
The present invention will be described more in detail herein- below according to the enclosed drawings in which some prefer¬ red embodiments are shown.
Figure 1 shows a square section of the complete speed gear.
Figure 2 shows a scheme of a plant and transparency view of the speed gear according to the precedent figure.
Figure 3 shows a scheeme of a hydraulic variant of the blocking device.
Figure 4 shows a square section of a variant of the speed gear according to the present invention.
Relating to the details of the figures, the speed gear for mov- ing elements according to the present invention consists of:
- an axis 1 "of the engine, in its two possible, symmetrical va¬ riants with an inlet from both sides, for the inlet as well as for the outlet of the motive-power.
- Two plates or disks 2, that are parallel and jointly liable, for the outlet or the inlet of the motive-power;
- two multitoothed satellites 3 with axis' 3';
- two inverter gears 4 with axis' 4';
- a plurality of toothed rings 5 on the inner side, each being provided with a rotation possibility indepentent from the o- thers;
- a plurality of joint elements 6 for keeping said rings 5 co¬ axial;
- means for blocking said rings 5.
The working of the speed gear according to the present invention may be described as follows:
- from one of the two parts, the rotation of the engine arrives on axis 1; - following to the gear always being in taking with axis 1, the satellites 3 rotate around their own axis' 3' which make pla¬ tes 2 jointly liable between each other;
- said satellites 3 translate, by means of their staggered gears with different relations, their rotation to the corre¬ sponding internal teeth of rings 5, which all rotate at the same time at differents speeds.
- By means of a blocking device - mechanical, hydraulical, hy- dropneumatic or of any other kind - the outlet speed is se- lected making stop one of rings 5 provided with the chosen relation, so as to transfer the rotation to said plates 2 and therefore to the wheels.
In a variant according to the present inventio, said blocking device for rings 5 may be of the kind with mechanical jaws provided in correspondence to each ring, or movable jaws for being moved for taking - one after the other - said rings; in further variants; the blocking device may be of the hydraulic kind described in figure 3, where the blocking of the fluid flowing through the pump allows to stop the cam E jointly liable to one of said rings 5.
Obviously the operating of the blocking and selecting may be manual or automatic according to the revolution number.
In the variant of the speed gear as shown in figure 4, the satellites consists of a plurality of toothed, coaxial wheels 7, each having a separate rotation from the others, aroung axis' 7'. In such variant each toothed wheel 7 is always in taking and receives the rotation from one of the corresponding, mul¬ tiple, overlaid gears - liable one to the other - that repre- sent the engine of themotor 1.
Consequently, also in this variant, when - as above mentioned - one of said rings 5 is blocked, making it jointly liable to the frame: - the shaft of engine pin 1 rotates;
- the motion is translated to the toothed wheel 7, correspond¬ ing to the fixed ring 5;
- the rotation is transferred onto plates 2 and therefore to the wheels of the vehicle through pins 7'.
