Abstract

The invention relates to a device for righting a capsized catamaran, both at sea and in fresh water, without fatigue and in complete safety. It consists of four handles (1, 2, 3, 4). Once the boat has capsized, one of the sailors grasps either handle (1) or handle (2), thus allowing him to climb on the hull (5). Once there, he grasps handle (3 or 4) and puts a foot on handle (1 or 2). Once the sailor is upright on (1 or 2), he can grasp the hull (6) and climb upon it having supported one of his feet on (3 or 4), thus allowing him to haul himself fully upon the hull (6). Once on the hull (6) he induces a rocking motion to right the boat. The device of the invention is designed to permit an effortless climb from the part of the hull in the water to that out of it so that the boat may be righted by rocking her.

Description

Dispositif pour relever un catamaran ayant chaviré. Device for recovering a capsized catamaran.
The present invention relates to a device allowing the rele¬ vage, at sea and in fresh water, without fatigue and in complete safety, of a capsized catamaran.
Currently, on catamarans, sailors have no system allowing them to straighten them when they have capsized. They must straighten by leaning on the hull alone, with the only help of a rope, which causes additional fatigue, a waste of time and therefore increased insecurity.
The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks. It consists of four semi-rigid plastic handles which can be either welded, sewn or glued to the back of the catamaran floor (s) (also called trampolines), depending on whether they are flexible or rigid.
These handles are located 1/3 of the inner edges of the hulls, on two parallels, and 1/3 of the front beam and 1/3 of the rear beam, on two parallels; the beams constituting the fixing frame.
Principe :Principle:
When the catamaran capsized, a hull is in the water, the second is in the air, the mast being practically horizontal.
Near the hull that is in the water, are, on the back of the floor, two of the four handles on a parallel to this hull: a handle at the front and one at the rear.
The navigator being in the water it is very easy for him to grab one of these two handles and, thanks to this, he can hoist himself on this hull.
Once on the hull, it can take the series of tallest handles, also located on a parallel to the hull. He then uses the first series of handles as a step to hoist himself up and catch the upper hull which is out of the water.
It uses, from this moment, the second series of handles as a step and can thus hoist itself on the upper hull.
Arrived on the upper hull, by the pendulum effect, the catamaran gets back on the water without any difficulty.
Given the short distance between the handles and the hulls, as well as between the handles themselves, you can hoist yourself without fatigue and safely on the hull out of the water and thus straighten the catamaran easily.
