The device incorporates at least one drawer (7) provided with or intended to receive separation units, such as frames, vessels or the like for the waste, and being displaceably arranged in guides (6) provided in the bottom region of the kitchen fitment. The drawer (7) is displaceably arranged in a drawer rack (5) consisting of a bottom plate (5a) and opposed side walls (5b), that the drawer guides (6) are provided on the inner side of said side walls (5b), and that the drawer rack (5) is intended to be positioned on and affixed to the bottom (17) of the kitchen fitment (1).

Description

A device for self-separation of domestic waste
The present invention refers to a device for self-separation of domestic waste intended to be mounted in new or existing kitchen fitments particularly sink cupboard and incorpora¬ ting at least one drawer provided with or intended to receive separation units, such as frames, vessels *<or the like for the waste, whereby the drawer is displaceably arranged in guides provided in the bottom region of the kitchen fitment.
Background of the invention
In order to make poosible a treatment of domestic waste that is more harmless to the environment it is required a self- separation of the waste at home in wet and dry refuse, glass, newspapers, batteries etcetera. The problem involved in such self-separation is that it is troublesome and space- requiring, as existing kitchen fitments are not adapted for this purpose.
Purpose and most important features of the invention
The purpose of the invention is to provide a device of kind mentioned hereabove, which makes possible a rational and space-saving self-separation of domestic waste. This has been achieced in accordance with the invention in that the drawer is displaceably arranged in a drawer rack consisting of a bottom plate and opposed side walls, that the drawer guides are provided on the inner side of said side walls, and that the drawer rack is intended to be positioned on and affixed to the bottom of a kitchen fitment.
Description of the drawings
The invention will be further described hereinafter with reference to some embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is a schematic section through a sink cupboard pro- vided with a unit according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a section corresponding to Fig. 1 but showing the unit in a position pulled out from the sink cupboard.
Fig. 3 is a planar view of the unit according to Fig. 1.
Fig. 4 is a section along line IV-IV in Fig. 3. Fig. 5 and 6 are sections through the unit according to Fig.
1-4, but showing alternative locations of the liner in the drawer.
Fig. 7 is a section according to Fig. 1, but showing another embodiment of the unit according to the invention. Fig. 8 is a section through a further variant of the unit according to the. invention.
Fig. 9 is a planar view of a unit according to another embodiment.
Fig. 10 is a section along line X-X in Fig. 9.
Description of embodiments
In the embodiment of the invention in Fig.s 1-6, 1 refers to a sink cupboard with table-top 2, sink 3 and cupboard door 4. At the bottom 17 of the cupboard 1 is fixedly attached a drawer rack 5 consisting of a bottom plate 5a and side walls 5b, which last-mentioned support guides 6 for a drawer 7. In the embodiment shown the drawer 7 is provided with a liner 9, which is displaceable in upper guides 8 and has a verti- cal partition 10 and a horizontal cover disk 11. The liner 9, in accordance with what is desired and in accordance with current location of sink trap, drain, etcetera, may be positioned in a rearward or forward position of the drawer,- such as shown in Fig. 5 and 6. The liner 9 is fitted in desired position in suitable manner. In the compartment 12 formed in front of, or alternatively behind the liner it is possible to keep e.g. dish washing and cleaning material and glass and paper refuse.
The cover disk 11 has apertures 13 for buckets 14 intended for e.g. wet and dry domsetic waste. The cover disk may have further apertures e.g. for a battery tin.
The unit consisting of drawer rack 5 and drawer 7 may be mounted both in new and in existing sink cupboards. The guides 6 may be so called ball slide bars, which allow the drawer 7 to be completely detached from the cupboard for providing good accessibility. Alternatively it is possible to use expansion fittings, which allow the drawer 7 to be entirely pulled out of the cupboard without being detached therefrom.
The unit shown in Fig. 1-6 is intended to be built into a cupboard having doors, whereas in Fig. 7-8 are shown em¬ bodiments where the cupboard door 15 forms an integral unit with the drawer 7. The cupboard door 15 may be equipped with a conventional waste basket for a plastic bag (Fig. 7), whereas the drawer 7 is provided with an appropriate liner. In Fig. 8 the drawer 7 has a liner 9 corresponding to that of Fig. 1-6.
The embodiment shown in Fig. 9 and 10 has double drawers 7, whereby one of the drawers is fitted with a waste basket 16 and has a space provided therebehind for e.g. cans, bottles and newspapers. The second drawer is by means of the liner 9 designed in the same manner as in Fig. 1-6, but having space for only one bucket 14. The cupboard doors 15 in the embodiment shown form a part integratal with the associated drawer 7.
The unit consisting of drawer rack 5 and drawer 7 in all embodiments may be manufactured entirely from plastic lami¬ nated particle board, which means that it will be easy to keep tidy. The width and the number of units are adapted to -the size and shape of the existing kitchen bench.
The invention is of course not limited to the embodiments shown, but a plurality of variants are possible within the scope of the claims.
