Abstract

Most shops now provide trolleys for their customers, said trolleys running on four wheels and being provided with a shopping basket with four side walls and a bottom. A handle for pushing the trolley is located above one of the four side walls, namely a transverse rear side wall. The novelty of the present invention is that the trolley is provided with a sign holder above the handle, said sign holder being secured by stays to the basket itself, preferably to the rear transverse side wall of the basket.

Description

SIGN HOLDER FOR SHOPPING TROLLEYS
The present invention relates to shopping trolleys of conventional design, available in practically all supermarkets. These trolleys are usually standardized and correspond to those illustrated in the accompanying photographs. Customers are generally informed of the range a shop particularly wishes them to purchase by way of posters and newspaper advertisements. However, a customer may miss both posters and newspaper advertisements and may therefore have no idea of what the shop really wishes to sell when he enters.
The object of the present invention is to provide a customer in the shop with information which can hardly be ignored, this information being imparted by way of a sign holder located immediately above the handle used to push the trolley along. It is thus impossible for a customer gripping a shopping trolley to avoid the information provided on the sign holder. The sign itself consists of a flat surface designed for information to be secured thereon. The sign is also provided with a stay securing it to the rear transverse side of the trolley. This can in effect be achieved by means of two screw joints.
The present invention enables a shopkeeper, via a shopping trolley, to provide a customer with information he cannot possibly miss. The sign holder according to the present invention is thus the most effective information a shopkeeper can impart to a customer.
