Abstract

Movable set for thermal engines and piston machines. The disclosed device replaces the conventional transmission: rod-crankshaft by using a single oscillating rod and a single diagonal throw for any number of pistons or members with an alternating rectilinear translation motion. The throw axis sweeps a revolution cone. The rod, of fixed axis, is hinged, on the one hand, through its head with a crankshaft and, on the other hand, with parts having an alternating motion such as double-head pistons respectively through orthogonal arms of which the extremities operate in the axial area of those parts. The device with a reduced number of moving parts is very compact. It transmits a higher voluminal power and a higher power per unit of mass. The passage of the pistons at the center points being slower, the control of combustion and pollution is facilitated.
