Abstract

Solaria are generally arranged in special premises. Solaria are also used in homes, in which case they require a special location. The present invention constitutes a simplification in the form of a face solarium in a cabin or booth (1) into which the user can easily and quickly slip for a sun-ray treatment.

Description

SOLARIUM
The present invention relates to a solarium. Solaria are used to a great extent during the dark winter months when a replacement is required for the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Such a replacement is afforded by light sources emitting ultraviolet light, and said light sources may consist of halide lamps. Solaria are generally arranged in premises where the user undresses and lies under a number of lamps. Table-solaria also exist where the user can sit in front of the lamp in order to receive facial sun-ray treatment. These solaria are bulky and require a special place where they can be stowed away. It is thus tedious and timeconsuming to use them either at home or in special premises.
The object of the present invention is to create a simple arrangement for facial sun-ray treatment, without the need for undressing. A person desiring a sun-ray treatment* need merely slip into a cabin or booth. The cabin or booth has a wall with a number of openings located at the same level, said openings being preferably covered with a transparent material. Light sources, also at the same level, are arranged behind said transparent material. The level is such that a person standing or sitting in front of said wall will receive a facial sunray-treatment. A vertically adjustable stool is arranged in the cabin or booth in front of said wall, so that the face is in the correct position in relation to said openings.
An air-flow, generated by a fan, is arranged parallel to said light radiation.
The light sources and fan are switched on and off by a coin-operated unit.
Additional characteristics of the present invention are revealed in the appended claims. The invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompany two figures in which
Figure 1 shows a booth seen from above and Figure 2 shows a booth seen from below. The drawings show a booth or cabin 1 with an entrance 2. Inside the cabin is a partition 3 with two openings 4 and 5. These openings may be covered by transparent material, possibly consisting of thin panes of glass or plastic, designated 6 and 7. Behind these panes are light sources 8 and 9, emitting ultraviolet light, which may consist of halide lamps. Behind the light sources are reflectors 10 and 11. A fan 12 is arranged at the same level as the openings 4 and 5, its air-flow passing through a passage 13. A means 14 is provided to adjust the speed of the fan 12. Behind the partition 3 is a coin-operated switch 15 with coinslot 16. The switch is arranged, when a coin .is inserted, to supply power to the light sources and fan for a specified length of time, e.g.5 or 10 minutes, after which time it will be switched off again. A vertically adjustable stool is arranged in front of the partition 3» allowing a user to raise or lower his face to a position opposite the two light sources 8 and 9. In front of the partition is a shelf 17.
Booths or cabins of the type described above can be placed anywhere for the use of passers-by. Suitable locations might be department stores, railway stations, self-service stores, restaurants, hotels, hairdressers and so on. Slipping in to such a cabin or booth is easy and uncomplicated. A user need only go and sit down in the cabin or booth, adjust the height of the stool and insert the appropriate coin. A facial sun-ray treatment couldn't be simpler or more practical.
