  • the present seed capsules are useful for all kinds of seed, such as seed of forest trees, but they are especially intended for conifer seed and above all for pine seed but also seed from spruce.
  • the process according to the invention for preparation of a seed capsule is characterized in that peat and micro-cristalline cellulose in an amount ratio of 4:1 to 1:4 and optionally a disintegrating agent are blended, after which the reslting blend is compressed to tablets, that at leat one hole is made in each tablet, for example by punching or boring, that at least one seed is introduced into each hole and that the tablet is optionally provided at least partially with a protective layer.

Abstract

Une capsule pour semences comprend un mélange qui est constitué par un agent de retention de l'humidité et par un agent de désintégration dans lequel sont incorporées une ou plusieurs semences. Le trou est bouché, c'est-à-dire que la capsule est par exemple recouverte au moins partiellement d'une couche protectrice. L'agent de retention de l'humidité comprend de 80 à 20 % de tourbe et de 20 à 80 % de microcellulose, et un agent de désintégration présent en une quantité allant jusqu'à 10 % en volume de l'agent de retention de l'humidité est de préférence mélangé à ce dernier. La couche protectrice éventuelle comprend une pellicule hydrosoluble ou hydrogonflable. On peut préparer cette capsule pour semences en mélangeant de la tourbe et de la cellulose microcristalline selon un rapport de quantité de 4/1 à 1/4, ainsi qu'éventuellement un agent de désintégration. Le mélange qui en résulte est ensuite comprimé sous la forme de tablettes, dans chacune desquelles est pratiqué au moins un trou, par exemple par poinçonnage ou par perçage, au moins une semence étant en outre introduite dans chaque trou et la tablette éventuellement recouverte d'une couche protectrice. Cette capsule pour semences est destinée à l'ensemencement, en particulier d'arbres tels que des conifères, la capsule pour semences étant placée sur la terre ou si possible à un niveau plus ou moins bas sous la terre.
