Abstract
A fastener for a dust mop at a tool are known and specifically the utilization of velcro tape in order to arrange a releasable application of a dust mop on a platform fastener having a handle, which platform fastener has a plastic surface provided with the male parts (tap-formed bodies) of the velcro tape. The platform is movable in relation to the handle and the dust mop is attached releasably on the platform. In order to prevent that water, dirt and other particles will affect the grasp between the velcro tape parts so that it may be destroyed when the dust mop is used that a fabric is used to form the female part of the velcro tape on the dust mop, which fabric has a substrate which is a knitted fabric from polyamide fibers with 8 filaments and which knitted fabric includes about 288 loops per cm2 and about 160 cours and 180 wales per 10 cm.
Description
TEAZLE FASTENING FOR FLOOR MOFS
This invention relates to a fastener for a dust mop at a tool and specifically the utilization of velcro tape in order to arrange a releasable application of a dust mop on a platform fastener having a handle, which platform fastener has a plastic surface provided with the male parts (tap-formed bodies) of the velcro tape.
It is known to releasably attach dust mops on the platfor part of a handle forming the tool. The platform is movabl in relation to the handle and the dust mop is attached re leasably on the platform. Many attempts have been made to form such a releasable fastener, whereby among other thin velcro tapes have been used by that the surface of the platform has been used as a part of the velcro tape and the dust mop has been provided with a corresponding plast surface forming the female part. Such a form of velcro ta is however unsatisfactory and cannot be used in the pract ical work. Water, dirt and other particles will however affect the grasp between the velcro tape parts so that it may be destroyed when the dust mop is used and the grasp may suddenly be out of work.
An object of the present invention is to improve the use of a velcro tape for fastening the dust mop on the platform, and this is achieved by using a specific type of velcro tapes for one part of the fastener.
The invention is hereby characterized by the fact that a fabric is used to form the female part of the velcro tape on the dust mop, which fabric has a substrate which is a knitted fabric from polyamide fibers with 8 filamen
2 and which knitted fabric includes about 288 loops per cm an about 160 cours and 180 wales per 10 cm.
The invention will be described in the following.
A dust mop will be reused between the washings and must thereby be detached from the fastener on the tool. Usually the tools include a handle having a platform on its lower part, which platform is movable in relation to the handle.
The dust mop is attached to the platform and this can be done e.g. by that the dust mop has a pocket in which the platform is inserted. Another way to attach the dust mop to the tool consists in that the other side of the plat- form is formed as the male part of the velcro tape, where¬ by one side of the dust mop includes the corresponding second part of the velcro tape. The invention includes a platform, the bottom side of which has a plastic surface with male parts, e.g. tap-formed bodies, the points of which have enlarged heads or hooks as known per se.
The side of the dust mop which is to be placed on the plastic surface of the platform is formed with the female parts of a velcro tape at least partly over the area. As the female part or the second part of the velcro tape a velcro tape fabric is used, the substrate of which is a knitted fabric from polyamide yarn. The polyamide yarn has
2
8 filaments and includes 280 loops per cm and has about
160 cours and 180 wales per 10 cm. The weight is 280 g 2 per cm and the thickness of the fabric is 2.4 mm of which
2 the pile is 1.6 mm. The number of filament loops per cm will be about 2300.
It should be observed that it is not necessary that the whole area of the plastic surface of the platform has to be formed as the one part of a velcro tape, which also applies for the side of the dust mop, which is placed on the platform. It is therefore possible to form the parts with strokes or spots of velcro tapes. In order to reach said advantage it is, however, necessary that one part of the velcro tape is a knitted fabric of the type specified above. A modification can be seen in that the two operating parts of the velcro tape will change places so that the knitted fabric forms the velcro tape part which is placed on the platform of the tool and the plastic surface having the male parts is arranged on the dust mop.

CLAIM ; -
Utilization of velcro tape in order to arrange a releas¬ able application of a dust mop on a platform fastener having a handle, which platform fastener has a plastic surface provided with the male parts (tap-formed bodies) of the one part of the velcro tape, characterized by the fact that a fabric is used to form the female part of the velcro tape on the dust mop, which fabric has a substrate which is a knitted fabric from polyamide fibers with 8 filaments and which knitted fabric in-
2 eludes about 288 loops per cm and about 160 cours and
