Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a heat-insulated and noise-suppressed ventilation conduit which forms a ventilation air duct having an air inlet or outlet and a fan mounted in the ventilation air duct.
  • the present invention is based on the object of eliminating or at least reducing the problems mentioned above by providing a device which to a great extent reduces the time of installation and mounting and eliminates the need of transitions.
  • This object is achieved according to the present invention by the ventilation conduit defined above has obtained the characteristics of claim 1.
  • the ventilation ducts preferably is formed by a number of panels of cellular plastic, which are glued or fused together according to some conventional method.
  • By the present invention there is obtained a very simple and easily installed device for heat insulation and noise-suppression of a ventilation fan. It has been found possible to reduce the mounting or installation time to very nearly a tenth of the mounting and instal ⁇ lation time necessary before. Moreover, no specific means for connection and transition to an existing ventilation air conduit system, if any, are necessary.
  • FIG. 1 is a diagrammatic side view of one embodi ⁇ ment of the ventilation conduit
  • FIG. 2 is a vertical sectional view of the ventilation conduit taken therethrough along line II - II in FIG. 1 , and a wall with a fan mounted thereto, and
  • FIG. 3 is a corresponding sectional view of the ventilation conduit and the wall with the venti ⁇ lation conduit mounted thereto.
  • the embodiment of the ventilation conduit of the - invention, shown in the drawing is made of a foamed plastic material preferably of the thermoplastic type the foaming being of the kind that provides closed cells. In this manner admission of water to the material will be prevented. It has been found that neoprene is a particularly suitable material.
  • the embodiment shown in the drawing is formed as a pillar with a ventilation air duct 1 and a ventila ⁇ tion air duct 2.
  • the two ventilation ducts T and 2 extend each from one end to a common space 3 located substantially centrally.
  • Said ducts and the space are formed by four panels 4, 5, 6 and 7.
  • the panels 4 and 5 have the same height as the ventilation air ducts 1 and 2 and have a spacing which equals the width of the ventilation air ducts 1 and 2.
  • the panels 4 and 5 are positioned on the panel 7, and the panel 6 is positioned on the top thereof.
  • the panels are interconnected by means of a suitable glue or are fused together.
  • the space 3 is made by recessing the three panels 4, 5 and 6.
  • the space 3 serves to receive a fan 8.
  • the fan is mounted to a plate 9 having the same size as the inlet opening to the space 3, by the fan being mounted at a flange 10 to a wall 11 in a room by means of fastening screws 12 with the plate therebetween, said plate having an air outlet or inlet opening 13 which registers with a correspondi g opening 14 in the wall , provided with fixed louvres 15.
  • the ventilation conduit is mounted against the wall by being passed onto the fan and the mounting plate thereof.
  • the ventilation conduit is shown in FIG. 3 after the mounting thereof having been finished. In this way the mounting and installation is e ry much simplified.
  • the ventilation air duct 1 can either be connected to an existing ventilation air duct system or be provided with an inlet or outlet grid. This is true of course also _for the ventilation air duct 2.
  • After mounting of a device of the present invention such device can be provided with a simple metal sheet or plastic casing so as to improve the mechanical strength of the surface. However, it is also possible only to paint the device when it has been positioned.
