A method for preparing a cooling agent comprises preparation of the water solution of the chloride of an alkaline or alkaline earth metal, introducing into it 0.32 to 1.60 per cent by weight of molasses and thereafter 0.03 to 0.24 per cent by weight of calcium oxide or hydroxide.
