Abstract

A protective circuit for electrical apparatus has an insulated safety line (4) extending from the relevant electrical apparatus (6) to the protective circuit (2). The safety line (4) has inside the apparatus (6) at least one non-insulated region which is not in contact with the current-carrying parts. A first switching device (R1) connected to the safety line (4) and to a reference potential, as well as a second switching device (2) actuated by the first switching device (R1) are arranged between the phase- (10) and neutral- (12) conductors of the electrical path supply of the apparatus (6) and separate, in the activated switching state, the apparatus (6) from the phase (10)- and neutral- (12) conductors. The second switching device (R2) is connected with the phase- (10) and neutral- (12) conductors in such a way that it remains in the activated switching state after having been activated by the first switching device (R1).
