Description
VORGEFERTIGTER SCHMELZTIEGEL FÜR INDUKTIONS- SCHMELZÖFENPrefabricated melting pot for induction melting furnaces
TECHNISCHES GEBIETTECHNICAL AREA
The invention relates to a prefabricated crucible made of a refractory material for use in induction melting furnaces, consisting of an essentially hollow cylindrical body, the walls of which merge integrally into a base on the underside.
STAND DER TECHNIKSTATE OF THE ART
While it was previously customary to build the crucibles of the induction melting furnaces on site, there is an increasing tendency to prefabricate such crucibles in series, whereby the refractory ceramic material is first solidified by a hydraulic binder and sintered through when it is started up for the first time.
A corner edge is provided in the transition area between the crucible bottom and the wall for reasons of the shapes available for this. Even with the mostly conical tapering of the crucible, which is hollow-cylindrical, in the lower region towards the bottom, this entailed the considerable disadvantage that, due to the eddies caused by the magnetic field in the melt, in the transition region formed a shadow zone between the crucible wall and the floor, in which slag was held down. Although the slag itself is lighter than the melt and therefore usually floats upwards, a disturbing slag residue in the corner region between the wall and the bottom of the crucible could not be avoided in the known crucible designs.
The invention is based on the object of improving a prefabricated crucible of the type mentioned in such a way that the transition region between the crucible wall and the base. is adapted to the flow in the melt to adapt to the eddies that form in the melt.
This object is achieved in a crucible of the generic type according to the invention in that a concavely rounded cavity is formed on the inside of the crucible body in the transition region between the wall and the bottom, to which the inside of the wall and the bottom connect tangentially.
The particular advantage of a crucible according to the invention lies in the fact that the corner region between the crucible wall and the bottom of those which form in the melt. Whirl flows through and is therefore also in this area. Slag is raised upwards. In an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the radius of curvature of the rounded cavity is approximately a quarter of the inner diameter of the wall near the bottom, so that an optimal adaptation to the eddy flow in the melt is achieved near the 3ode region.
KURZBESCHREIBUNG DER ZEICHNUNGSABBILDUNGBRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING ILLUSTRATION
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing using an exemplary embodiment.
The drawing shows a prefabricated crucible in longitudinal section inserted in an induction melting furnace.
BESTER WEG ZUR AUSFÜHRUNG DER ERFINDUNGBEST WAY TO CARRY OUT THE INVENTION
In detail, one can see in the drawing a continuous furnace lining 1, on the inside of which electrical induction coils 2 are arranged. An essentially hollow-cylindrical crucible 4 made of a ceramic material is inserted into the continuous furnace feed 1 and is fixed with a backfill mass 3 in the permanent furnace feed 1.
The wall 5 of the crucible body 4 tapers slightly conically in the lower region towards a base 6. In the transition area between the conical section of the wall 5 and the bottom 6, a concavely rounded cavity 7 is formed on the inside of the crucible body 4, to which the inner surfaces of the bottom 6 and the wall 5 connect tangentially. The radius of curvature of the rounded cavity 7 is approximately equal to a quarter of the inner diameter of the wall 5 in the transition area to the bottom 6. This results in a clear, pronounced rounding which is adapted to the eddy flow in the melt which forms in the lower region of the crucible body 4. This avoids vortex-free dead zones near the crucible bottom 6, in which slag could be held near the bottom area of the crucible 4.
