- Steelwire clamps are used to a great extent in hoisting arrangements. Acci ⁇ dents occur relative often through this usage, due to the failure of the steel ⁇ wire clamps. An often recurring cause of this failure, is due to assembling the clamp erroneously.
- Known steelwire clamps consist of two clamp halves which, by means of one or more bolt connections, are made to be forced against each other with two steelwires in between, for example around a thimble, so that the steelwires cannot slide in relation to one another.
- the clamps are provided with a steel which when the clamps are assembled will rest on a surface of the opposite clamp half. This will have the effect of preventing the clamp halves from displacing themselves in relation to each other.
- Clamps of this type are furnished with grooves in each clamp half which when mounted together make up a S shaped slot where the steelwire is placed.

Since the studs 7, 8 have different distances to the clamp halves 4 center ⁇ line, then the clamp half parts cannot be connected together erroneously.
