Abstract

The patent for the invention "thermo-regulated circulating air ambient for beds", includes the connection to a single or double bed, of a removable cover (6), that contains the air which is warmer or cooler than the temperature of the rest of the room, with frequent regulation by one or more thermostats of the temperature wanted, furnished by a mini airconditioning apparatus (C). There is also another model (7) that permits the user to keep his head uncovered. It can also be connected to small beds or cradles.

Description

"THERMO-REGULATED CIRCULATING AIR AMBIENT FOR BEDS".
The present invention refers to the connection of a removable cover to a single or double, bed, which contains the air which is warmer or cooler than the temperature of the rest of the room, with constant regulation of the temperature furnished by a mini air-conditionng apparatus controlled by a thermostat.
In the. drawings that are attached to and make up this report, picture 1 shows, besides the cover (6) already stretched out and connected to the curved tubes that are inside the head and foot boards of the bed (3) and (4), also the fixed tubes for the entry of air on both sides of the bed (1); the point connecting the supply hose (2) and the nylon strings that support the cover (5). Picture 2 shows a kind of cover, smaller, that could be called the "uncovered head" model, because it only covers the user up to the shou l ders , by us i ng a curta i n (7) , composed of several parts (8 ) . Picture 3 shows a bed with the "thermo-regulated circulating air ambient for beds", pointing out its main parts: a common bed (A); connected cover (B); command unit (C) and electric card with plug (D).
The removable cover is connected in this way: a tube of curved plastic material is connected from within to the foot and head boards of the bed (3) and (A), so that the tube, can run up and down. The tube from the head board is attached to the tube from the foot board by 3 to 6 strings of nylon (or of a similar material), stretched parallel (5). A cover of a thin plastic similar to that used for curtains, which is transparent and fireproof, is stretched on these strings (6). This cover is connected on both sides of the bed, to the head and foot boards, with hooks and eyes stick-on strips, etc. The "thermo-regulated circulating air ambient for beds" works in this way: the air, warm or cool, enters the ambient through holes in the tube connected to each side of the bed (1), from the head board to the foot board. This air exits through holes scattered on the cover, and as it leaves, the air cools off or warms up the entire small ambient, at will.
The command unit (C) is in a box, outside the cover, on the floor or at the height of the bed, near the head board, and contains the mini air-conditioning apparatus, which uses the common 110 watts electric system. The thermostat - and there may be more than one - will be kept inside the cover, and it will give the temperature, which will be controlled, will be fixed, and will be chosen from a scale whose maximum variation will be approximately 20 degrees only, including temperatures from approximately 15 to 35 degrees celsius. The user will also have the choice of selecting a fixed temperature from among several alternatives (warm up, cool off, cool, cooler, etc.).
Owing to the small, closed ambient, which is isolated by a poor heat conducting material (plastic) and the body of the user himself which acts as a permanent heat source, one can see that both the warming up or the cooling off of the mini ambient are obtained with a minimum of work for the mini air-conditioning apparatus.
Experiments which have been carried out showed that on certain occasions only the ventilation produced by a small, simple fan was enough to keep the temperature wanted.
From the mentioned command unit, where the mini air-conditioning apparatus is located, the warm or cool air is conducted through two hoses, that are linked (2) with the fixed tubes on both sides of the bed (1).

Claims

1. The "thermo-regulated circulating air ambient for beds", characterized by the connection to a single or double bed, of a removable cover (6), that contains the air which is warmer or cooler than the temperature of the rest of the room, with continuing regulation of the temperature, supplied by a mini air-conditioning apparatus (C), with one or more thermostats.
2. The "thermo-regulated circulating air ambient for beds", according to claim 1, is characterized by leaving the head of the user uncovered (7), which is the only feature that makes it different from the previous model.
