  • the present invention provides a two-piece arbor assembly by which mill cutters may now be safely and easily installed on a machine spindle by simply sliding one part of the assembly into the other. With all elements properly aligned, the bolts necessary for securing the assembly and cutter in such alignment may be easily installed and tightened. It is expected that by the present invention, a task that previously required 8 hours of difficult and frustrating work will now be accomplished in only a half-hour. Further, as outlined above, the problems of safety and accessibility are solved by the present invention. Brief Description of the Drawings

Abstract

Systeme de mandrin (10) servant a fixer un outil de coupe (14) a une broche de machine (12) Le remplacement d'outils de coupe de grandes dimensions sur des machines de fraisage a broches multiples a represente, jusqu'a present, un travail couteux, ennuyeux et long, rendu plus difficile par l'emplacement souvent inaccessible des broches de fixation de l'outil sur une machine. Les problemes decrits ci-dessus sont resolus efficacement par un systeme de mandrin (10) possedant un organe d'ajustage (16) a la broche pouvant etre fixe sur une broche de machine (12) et un organe correspondant d'ajustage (18) d'outil de coupe pouvant etre fixe a l'outil de coupe (14). L'organe d'ajustage (18) d'outil de coupe peut etre separe lateralement de l'organe d'ajustage (16) de broche et il est particulierement utile dans des broches orientees verticalement sur des machines de fraisage a broches multiples.
