Abstract

Esta invencion pretende prolongar la supervivencia de las prótesis de rodilla, perfeccionando la geometría, la cinemática y aumentar los componentes articulares femoropatelares logrando mantener un contacto superficial entre el polietileno pateral y el componente metálico femoral e modo permanente en la amplitud total de su movimiento relativo. La localización de las área de contacto entre las superficies reticulares de la rótula y del fémur durante los movimientos de flexión y extensión de la rodilla natural obedece a un patrón característico. Durante la flexión de rodilla natural ciertas áreas de la superficie articular de las facetas patelares establecen contacto susesivo con zonas de la tróclea en primer término y, más tarde, con regiones de la porcion mas anterior de los cóndilos femorales, realizando el recorrido inverso durante la extensiva.
