1 Claim. 47-61) The present invention relates to a new and distinct variety of rose plant of the hybrid polyantha class characterized as to novelty dominantly by its adaptability for both cut-flowers and garden decoration, by the purity of th color 5 of its flowers and their excellent form and large size for varieties of this class, combined with its exceptionally vigorous growing habit over a long blooming period and extraordinary freedom of to 3% inches.
fl wering l0 Petalage,-Double; 30 to 50 or more petals; Asexual reproduction shows that these ch-anacarranged regularly with petaloids in cenlteristics hold true through succeeding propagater.
Form.-Cupped at first; becoming open cupped; petals remaining at first loosely cupped, outer row of petals first, rolled outward; becoming later, at maturity, loosely cupped.
Petals: Firm and silky; with inside like white silk crepe and outside more shiny.
Shape.Outside-rounded heart shape;
scalloped with one notch usually, sometimes a compound notch. Intermediatetions.
In the drawing are shown specimens of this new variety, illustrating the flowers at different stages of development from bud to full blown blossoms, together with specimens of young and mature foliage.
The following is a detailed description of the new variety, all references to color being in accordance with Ridgway's Color Standards and Nomenclature, and ordinary dictionary definion. obovate; emarginate scalloped with one Q notch; less deeply notched than outside Type- Hglrdyi bush for cut flowers and garden petals. This description was made from a rose that was open for three days in a greenhouse in the month of March, at West Grove, Pa.
