PATENTi OFFICE WILLIAM R. WESTFALL, OF KEW GARDENS, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO SCOVILL MANU- FACTURING COMPANY, OF WATERBURY, CONNECTICUT, A CORPORATION OF CON- NEGI'ICUT DESIGN FOR AN ASH RECEIVER OR SIMILAR ARTICLE Application filed April 1, 1931. Serial No. 39,320. Term of patent 3 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM R. WESTFALL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kew Gardens, Long Island, in the county of Queens and State of New York, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for an Ash Receiver or Similar Article, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawin forming part hereof.
igure 1 is a top plan view and Figure 2 a side elevation of an article made according to my design.
The design consists of a main body portion of cylindrical contour, a rounded bottom portion below the main portion and formed by sloping the sides of the article sharply inwardly and then sharply downwardly, thus making a well-defined bulge at the lower extremity, and a top portion, of contrasting color to the main and bottom portions, an formed by sloping the sides sharply inwardly, and then sharply outwardly at a corresponding angle to the horizontal, the apex of the angle formed by the thus sloping sides giving to the article a greatly constricted neck portion.
The flaring vacuum cup attached to the main body portion adds to the pleasing appearance of this design.

The ornamental design for an ash receiver or similar article, as described and shown.
