DESIGN FOR CARPET.

Specification forming part of Design No. 6,176, dated October 8, 1872.

To all whom it may coneern:

Be it known that I, ARTHUR MAZEPPA KING, of Kidderminster,in the county of forcester, England, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying photographic illustration formingpart of the specification.

The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration to which reference is made.

The design consists of an oblong figure or pattern with slightlyrounded ends and double cruciform extensions from each side con necting the pattern at each side, the ends being connected by a figure in the shape of a gothic or mediaeval cross. The center of the design, by lighter lines, gives the outlme of the outer figure, and is ornamented by two medallions separated the one from the other by a transverse cross surrounded by scrollwork and small figures, which form the main ground-work; and

I claim as my invention- The design for carpets, as shown.
