UNITED [STATES PATENT 1 OFFICE.
' WILLIAM D. MORRIS, OF YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE REPUBLIC RUBBER COMPANY, OF YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO, 'A CORPORATION OF OHIO.
DESIGN FOB/ A VEHICLE-TIRE.
' Application filed October 15, 1913.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM D. MORRIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Youngstown, in the county of Mahoning and State of Ohio, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Vehicle-Tires, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings,- forming part thereof, in which I Figure 1 is a plan view of the design, and Fig. 2 a transverse section thereof on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
This invention relates to a new, original and ornamental design for vehicle tires in general, but is particularly intended and adapted for the ornamentation of outer covers or casings of automobile tires, and
consists in the novel and pleasing exterior configuration shown.
The body 1 of the tire to which my present novel design is applied is of the ordi-, nary cross sectional form as indicated by Fig. 2, but to its exterior or tread surface 2 Specification for Design.
Patented Oct. 13, 1914.
Serial No. 795,376. Term of patent 14 years.
as best shown by Fig. 1 of the accompanying drawings, my present design in rilievo is applied, consisting of two independent but corresponding series of raised figures 3 and 4, upon opposite sides of the longitudinal center of tread surface 2, each of said series extending circumferentially and continuously around the tire. The said raised figures 3 and 4. of each continuous series are in the form of letters V and are alternately reversed or inverted throughout the entire design. As will be seen by the drawings, these figures are wholly disconnected and collectively produce an unusually pleasing and attractive tread surface for tires.
hat I now claim is:
The ornamental design for a vehicle tire as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM D. MORRIS. Witnesses:
