CHARLES M. HOFFMAN, 0F LEBANON, NEW HAMPSHIRE.
DESIGN FOR A FAUCET.
Specification for Design.
Patented June 30, 1914..
Application filed April 21, 1914. Serial No. 833,572. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES M. Horr- MAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lebanon, in the county of Grafton and State of New Hampshire, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Faucets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a certain new, original, and ornamental design for faucets.
The object of this invention is the provision of a design for faucets, which will be ornamental and pleasing to the eye, and consisting of a novel casing of regular contour constructed to contain a main valve and a supplemental valve disposed in the rear thereof.
WVith the above and other objects in view, this invention resides in the novel design for faucets, which will hereinafter be described in detail, and illustrated in the drawing in which: the figure shown is a perspective view of a faucet constructed in accordance with my invention.
Referring to the accompanying drawing by similar characters of reference, the numeral 1 denotes my improved faucet, provided with an angular end 2, and terminating in the threaded supporting or attaching nipple 3. The casing of this faucet 1, is enlarged as at 4, at a point adjacent the angular end 2, to receive the supplemental valve 5, designed to close the passage 6, which extends entirely through the casing of the faucet 1, from the nipple 3 thereof to the downwardly curved nozzle 7 A second enlargement of the casing of the faucet 1, is shown at 8, located in advance of the enlargement 4 and valve 5. A main valve 9 is located in this enlargement 8, and is operated by the handle 10.
From the drawing it will be readily seen that the contours of the casing present regular curves which are pleasing to the eye and tend to render to the faucet an unusually attractive appearance.
I claim The ornamental design for a faucet substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES M. HOFFMAN.
