DESIGN FOR A SHAWL FABRIC.

The Schedule referred to In these Letters Patent and making part o! the same To all whom it may conce-rn.-

Be it known that I, MARTIN LANDENBERGER, of Philadelphia, in the countyr of Philadelphia and in the State of' Pennsylvania, have invented certain new :ind useful Improvements in Fabric for Shawls; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof; reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon making a part of this specifi cation.

The nature of my invention consist-s in an improved design for a shawl fabric.

Ilhis design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing.

The stitch is made upon a shuttle-loom, and gcuerally of two colors, as shown in the drawing; for intance, black and white, drab and blue, or any other colors desired.

Eight harnesses and forty-eight bars oi' chain are used in forming the design.

The accompanying drawing representa a view of the fabric as taken from the ordinary design-paper, and, while the fabric is incapable of specile description, it will be readily understood from the drawing by those skilled in the art.

The design forms a series of irregular-shaped oblique blocks and lines.

What I claim is- The within-described shown.
