Be it known that 1, JAMES L. FRAZIER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Peoria, in the county of Peoria and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Rope-Coupling; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a rope-coupling, which may be understood from the following specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the coupling, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
The coupling comprises two portions, one of which is substantially square in cross-section, having a ring at the top. At one side is a projecting button, as shown in both figures. A dovetail groove extends entirely through the body, the outline of which is shown. The other portion of the coupling consists of a body having two depending ears, which form an inverted U. In the extremity of each ear is a bolt-hole. The top of the body has a tongue of dovetail form or of the same form as the groove in the first portion described.
When assembled, the device appears as in Fig. 1. The body portion first described is largest at its bottom, from whence it gradually tapers toward the ring at its apex.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- The design for a rope-coupling as herein described and shown.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
