DESIGN FOR A BLANK FOR SPECULUM-BLADES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N0I 35,229, dated October 29, 1901.
Application filed August 5, 1901. Serial No. 70,985. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES J. PILLING, citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Blank for Speculum- Blades, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.
In said draWings, Figure l is a plan view of my blank, and Fig. 2 is a side View thereof.
My invention consists of the design in novel external outline, planular shape, or configuration of the sheet-metal blank shown in Fig. 1, from which the speculum -blade is produced when struck up by dies in the usual manner of producing metal shapes from sheetmetal blanks. In its essentials it comprises a longitudinally-straight portion A, rounded at its outer end a and slightly curved at its opposite end I), with opposite narrow Winglike extensions 0 a proceeding from the base of the portion A and terminating in cars dd, the union of the portions 0 c with the portion A being on a curved line.
I claim The design fora blank for speculum-blades, substantially as shown and described.
