PICTURE FRAME.
[Application filed Aug. 1, 1900.)
W/ T/VESSES /N VEN T0)? A TTORNEYS UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DESIGN FOR A PICTURE-FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,127,
dated August 28, 1900.
Application filed August 1, 1900. Serial No. 25,596. Term of patent '7 years.
'0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM H.HOLTZ, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Picture-Frame, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in which the figure is a front view of a picture-frame embodying my design.
The leading feature of the design consists of the representation of a floating boat or barge known as a Viking ship, seated in the stern of which is a cupid holdinga torch. On the deck is the representation of roses, and a mythological face is shown as a figurehead, above which is a curved prow terminating in a fancy scroll. Above the ship or barge is a sail having an opening provided with a fancy border. The sail is represented as attached to yard-arms and supported by the representation of a rope extended from a mast to the upper yard-arm and extended downward at the sides of the sail near the upper end.
Minor features consist in a streamer attached to the upper portion of the mast and coiled around a section of the rope represem tation, and below the upper yard-arm and attached to a rope is the representation of a streamer or flag. Below the representation of waves upon which the boat is supported, are the fanciful representations of sea-fish, and the rudder of the boat is represented in the form of a shell, above which is a mythological figure. An anchor is represented as hanging at the bow of the boat.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a picture-frame, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM H. IIOLTZ.
