mt uonml n!" 004 "info-gm. wmmm'om l1 c UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LIBBY P. RICHARD, OF LYNN, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A HAT AND UMBRELLA RACK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,834, dated June 12, 1900. Application filed Aprills, 1900. Serial No. 135399 Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern..-
Be it known that I, LIBBY P. RICHARD, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Lynn, county of Essex, and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Hat and Umbrella Racks, of which the following is a specification, reference being made to the accompany ing drawings, forming a part thereof, in which Figure 1 isaplan view of my rack, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof.
As shown in the drawings, the leading and material features of my design consist of a single piece of wire which is bent to form a vertically-arranged portion a, which is on r ved in semicircular form, and a curved or yokeshaped horizontal portion 1). Both ends of the wire are bent to form screw-eyes e (Z, and it is bent downwardly to form a loop or screweye e midway between the curved portions (t and b. From the ends of the curved portion a the wire extends horizontally in the plane of said curved portion and then is bent at a sharp angle and extends to the eye d at one end and to the eye e at the other ond,as shown.
The device is designed to be secured to any suitable support by simply passing screws through the various screw-eyes above described.
The manner of using the hat-rack is as follows: The hat will be placed with the rim inside of the horizon tally-bent pbrtions, so that the bottom side of the rim will be next the support and the crown will rest in the curved portion a and will extend outwardly from the support. The manner of use of the n m brellarack will be obvious.
Having described my in venlion, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is as follows:
The design for a hat and umbrella rack, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I sign my name in the presence of two witnesses.
LIBBY 1. RICHARD.
