UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN GULMER, OF CLEVELAND, OHIO, ASSIGNOR TO THE NATIONAL COMPUTING SCALE COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BASE-PLATE FOR SCALES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,581, dated April 24, 1909- Application filed January 29, 1900. Serial Nol3,235- Term of patent 14 years.
To all ll/71101771 it may concern:
Be itknown that I, JOHN W. OULMER, a citizen of the United States, residing in Cleveland, county of Cuyahoga, and State of Ohio, (having my post-oflice address at No. 11 Slater avenue, Oleveland,) have invented a certain new and original Design for a Base-Plate for Scales; and I hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of a base-plate for a scale constructed in accordance with my invention, and Fig. 2 is a front elevation thereof.
The leading or material features of my design consist of a circular ring within and tangent to a quadrilateral frame, two of the opposite sides of which are materially longer than the outside diameter of the ring, whereby they extend beyond the ring, and the other two sides of which curve inwardly from the ends of said longer sides to the ring, there being a cross within the ring formed of four radial arms extending from the center toward the corners of the frame, but terminating at the ring, whereby there is formed at each corner an open approximately triangular space bounded by the ring and two sides of the frame.
In the drawings, CL represents the ring; I) I) b b, the four arms with the ring; 0 c, the longer sides of the quadrilateral frame, and c c the inwardly curving sides. (I d d (1 represent angular lugs at the corners of the frame.
Having described my invention, what I claim is- The design for a base-plate for ascale substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
JOHN V. CULMER. Witnesses:
ALBERT H. BATEs, E. L. THURsroN.
