DESIGN FOR A TRACTION-WHEEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,458, dated April 3, 1900. Application filed srfi 1900. Serial No. 8,080. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE F. CONNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Port Huron, in the county of St. Clair and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Traction-\Vheels, of which the following is a specification, reference beinghad to the accompanyingdrawings, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to an original design for traction-wheels and is embodied in the configuration and shape of the rim portion thereof, as presently to be described and as shown in the drawings.
In the drawings, Figure 1 shows a tractionwheel embodying the design in side elevation. Fig. 2 is a face view of the periphery.
In the drawings, A designates the hu b, and B the suspension-spokes of the ordinary type.
C designates the rim, which constitutes the essential feature of this invention. This rim has a series of ribs on its outer face, spaced apart parallel to one another at an equal distance and placed at an angle to the axis of said wheel, and between the ribs is a surface havinga curved face. This face is concaved with reference to the rim of the Wheel, the curvature being in the direction of the hub. The under side of the rim is curved also, the face of said curvature being parallel with the face on the outer side of the rim.
The essential feature of the design,as stated above, resides in the placing and arrangement of the ribs or lugs and the peculiar shape of the rim.
Having thus described the invention, what Ielaim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a traction-wheel substan tially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
