RADIATOR.

: -Ilan" qUNITED STATES PATENT OEEICE.
TIMOTHY HOLLAND, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO MARY C. HOLLAND, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A RADIATOR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,306, dated September 6, 1898.
Annlioation filed August 1, 1898. Serial No. 687,446. Term of patent 14 years.
To LN whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, TIMOTHY HOLLAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Radiators, of which the following is a specifieation, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure l is a perspective View of a radiator, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a top or plan View, and Fig. 3 a horizontal section of the same.
The drawings illustrate a radiator made up of a series of separate tubular loops or sections each comprising a bottom horizontal member A, a top horizontal member A', six Vertical members B and B', and, as shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the crosssectional shape of the vertical members and its disposal with relation to the horizontal members, said cross-sectional shape being substantially that of an equilateral parallelogram with rounded angles at its corners and -having its sides IJ slightly curved inward. The arrangement of such parallelograms with relation to the horizontal members is as illustrated or so that two of the rounded corners shall lie in the plane of the axis of the horizontal members and the other two, b', at right angles thereto and projecting beyond the outer lines of the horizontal members, a crosssection of the facing, slightly-curved sides b of opposite vertical members in each loop forming substantially a semieirclc with a break at its center or at the open space between the vertical members. The top horizontal members are enlarged at the ends to correspond with the corners b' of the outer vertical members B, and thence curved slightly inward, so as to give a more open appearance toward the central portion of the top of the radiator, as shown in Fig. 2. The top and bottom parts of the sections may be ornamented as shown orotherwise, as desired.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a radiator substantially as herein shown and described.
TIMOTH Y HOLLAND. Witnesses:
