TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JAMES M. TAFT, of North Providence, in the county of Providence, and State of Rhode Island, have originated and designed a. new Design for a Trade-Mark., intended to designate a particular variety of thread for sewing purposes, manufactured by me; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull, clear,
and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying specimen, making a part of this specication. I
It consists of a plain ground, of bronze or other color, in a. circular fprm, with a central space of a contrasting color, in which space is the figure of an eagle with outspread wings, bearing in his talons a shield with arrows, over which, arranged concentrically with the outline of the central space, are the words Eagle Thread. Beneath the device of the eagle, and midway between the first and last letters of the name of the thread, is a circular space, in which is printed the number to designate the grade of the thread.
