The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LOUIS J. PARSONS, of New Bedford, in the county of Bristol, in the State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and improved Thill-Guard, in lieu of the safety-strap now used;

' and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of ref- A is a portion of an axle-tree. B is a portion of a thill. O is the guard.

. What I claim as my invention, and. desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The metallic safety-guard O, for thills of carriages,

constructed and operating substantially as and for the purpose set forth andv described, and applied in any practical manner.
