I f i UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EUGENE \V. GLADHILL, OF ABINGDON ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A CHURN-DASHER.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 28,706, dated May 24, 1898.
Application filed Aprll18, 1898. Serial No. 678,083. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EUGENE W. GLADHILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Abingdon, in the county of Knox and State of Illinois, have invented a new and original Design for a ChurnDasher, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for a churn-dasher; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a churn-flasher having a circular head, a circular series of straight downwardly-divergent flat blades depending from the head, and a central vertical annularly-scalloped stem depending from the head and arranged within the circular plane of said blades.
Additional and minor features of the design are the head, having a cylindrical sleeve extension at its upper side, and the fiat blades, set at an angle to the circular plane thereof or to the plane of rotation of the dasher.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the churn dasher embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view on the line 3 3 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the accompanying drawings the numeral 1 designates a circular dasherhead having projected from its upper side a cylindrical sleeve extension 2. The said circular dasher-head 1 has fitted to the under side thereof the upper ends of the circular series of straight downwardly-divergent flat blades 3 of equal length. These blades are set at an angle to the plane of rotation of the dasher, and within the circular plane of said blades is arranged a central vertical straight stem 4. The central vertical straight stem 4 depends centrally from the under side of the circular dasher-head 1 and is provided with a plurality of regularly-spaced annulargroovcs 5, which form a series of annular scallops extending the full length of the same.
What I claim is-- The design for a churn-dasher herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
EUGENE \V. GLADIIILL.
