UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES O. \YIDMAYER, OF ()S\\]+IHU, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SCARF-PIN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,081, dated May 11, 1897.
Application filed January 9, 1897. Serial No. 618,653. Term of patent '7 years.
To ail whom it may concern.-
Beitknown that I, CHARLES O. \VIDMAYER, a citizen of the United States, residing at ()swego, in the county of Oswego and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Scarf-Pin, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing a part thereof.
My invention consistsin a scarf-pinorsimilar article. Its essential feature is a representation on a small scale of a veloeipedc or bicycle without its cranks or pedals and provided with the wheel-shaped disks of the peculiar configuration and appearance herein shown. It will be seen that these parts are not representations of the ordinary bicyclewheels with fine spokes, but in place of the spokes have rather wide rings tapering from the periphery to a central cylindrical panel and set at an angle, as shown.
The central panel is a suitable place for carrying the name of the maker or any other suitable words.
Referring to the accompanying drawings,
Figure 1 is a representation of my design for asca1'f- 1i11,havingtheconventionalizedshape of an ordinary safety-bicycle with the above exceptions; and Fig. 2 is a section through one of the wheels, illustrating more clearly the tapering wings which I make use of in stead of the ordinary spokes.
I designates the frame of the wheel.
\V \V are the wheels, having each a central panel I; S S, the spokes, which are tapering:
and set oblique; N, a plate, which may be carried by the reaclrhar of the frame, and l) the driving-wheel.
What I claim as my design is The design for a scarf-pin, &c., substantially as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand, in the presence of two attesting witnesses, at Oswego, in the county of ()swego, in the State of New York, this ."ith day ol llccember, 1896.
