Description

UNITED STATES RALPH SCIIEUER, OF NElV YORK,
PATENT OFFICE.
DESIGN FOR A BELT-BUCKLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,193, dated October 20, 1896. Application filed June 10, 1896. Serial No. 595,038- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RALPH Sonnnnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Buckles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a side view of my newly-designed buckle. Fig. 2 is a section on line 2 2, Fig. 1; and Fig. is a section on line 3 3, Fig. 1.
The leading feature of my design consists in a buckle made of two parts one of which is composed of a wheel to which the end of the belt is fastened and from the center of which rises a triangular frame surmounted by a seat, and to the edges of which frame eyes are secured, while at the bottom of the frame is an endlesschain which passes around two sprocket-wheels, and the other part of the buckle consists of a wheel to which the other end of the belt is fastened, and from the center of which rises a standard surmounted by a handle, and from which extend two arms or rods provided with hooks on their ends to engage with the eyes, as will be more fully described hereinafter.
'lhc buckle consists of two parts A B, each one of which is secured to one end of the belt h. The part A consists of the wheel a, to which one end of the belt is sewed and from the center of which rises a triangular frame b I), surmounted by a seat (Z. To the inner edge of the upright portion 1) Z) are secured two eyes 0, and the lower ends of the two uprights are connected by a horizontal rod. Extending almost parallel with this rod is an endless chain which passes around two sprocket-wheels. The other part B of the belt consists of the wheel e, to which the other end of the belt is sewed, and from the center of which rises the inclined upright f, surmounted by the handle i, and from the inner side of this upright f extend the horizontal upper arm or rod g and the lower downwardly-inc-lined arm or rod g. Both of the arms g have hooks on their free ends.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- A design for a belt-buckle substantially as shown and described.
RALPH SOHEUER.
