Apvlieation filed March 12, 1896. Serial No. 581,206. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM R. PITT, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Rochelle, Westchester county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Markers for Bicycle- Routes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
My new and original design pertains to a marker or directing device for use along roadways or paths for indicating the route to be taken by a person riding a bicycle or velocipede.
The characteristic feature of my design consists in the shape or configuration of the design, as shown in the accompanying drawing.
In the accompanying drawing, illustrating my design, A indicates an ordinary cycle or 0 vclocipcde wheel, and I a human hand partly overlapping the wheel, the hand being posed with the index or forefinger pointing forwardly. Across the upper portion of the hand B is arranged a blank band or sign C, which is shown in the form of a scroll, having a plain surface D, upon which maybe placed any desired word or legend.
Having thus set forth my new and original design, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a marker for bicycle-routes, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 35th day of February, 1896, in the presence of the two subscribing witnesses.
