DESlGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,192, dated February 18, 1896. Application filed January 15, 1896. Serial No. 575,654. Term of patent Bl years- The border is further characterized by small closely-associated circular spots filling 25 in the spaces between the lower portions of the large figures.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a design for a carpet, the body A, sub- 0 stantially as shown.
2. In a design for a carpet, the border 13, substantially as shown.
8. The design for a carpet comprising the body A and the border B, substantially as 5 shown.

To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, EMIL G. SAUER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New 5 York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets and Borders, (being known as Pattern No. 5,222,) of which the following is a specification.
This invention comprises two partsi0 namely, the design A for a carpet and the design B for a border; and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification conveys to any one a clear understanding of the same and is sufficient to enable 15 such person to use my invention.
The design A is characterized by small closely-associated circular spots and dots between the spots.
The design 13 is characterized by large or- 20 namental figures of irregular outline having their lower portions tapered and their upper portions surmounted by a cluster of leaf. forms.
