SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,730, dated October 1, 1895.

Application filed August 31, 1895. Serial No- 561,157. Term of patent 3I- years.

To all z uhom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EMIL G. SAUER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Brooklyn,in the countyof Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets and Borders, known as Patern No. 4,772, of which the following is a specification.

This invention comprises two parts namely, the design A for a carpet and the design B for a border; and I do hereby declare that the drawings accompanying this specification conveys to any one aelear understanding of the same and is sufficient to enable such person to use my invention.

The design A is characterized by continuous conventional outline scrolls constituting its leading feature.

The design B is characterized by a panel of continuous-outline scroll-work having outer scrolls enlarged, constituting its leading featnre.

\Vhat I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design fora carpet, the body A, sub stantially as shown.

2. In a design for a carpet, the border 1 substantially as shown.

3. The design for a carpet, comprising the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
