DESIGN FOR A RAILWAY-CAR BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,824, dated August 30, 1892. Application filed July 23 1892- Serial No. 441,058. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that We, ROBERT I. SLOAN and RICHARD D. GALLAGHER, citizens of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Railway-Car Body; and we do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact decription of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
Our invention consists in a design for a railway-car body, hereinafter described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, which shows a side elevation of the car, the central parts of the car being broken away.
The characteristic feature of our design is a series of panels A A, which form the side walls of the car-bod y. Each panel is provided with an arch-shaped opening a, substantially as shown, the part of the panel below said opening being filled with three pauels a a a of lattice-work ornamented by scrolls or figures B. The corners of the panel above the opening are also filled with latticework.
The other features of our design are the narrow end panels C, one at each end of the car-body, as shown, consisting of lattice-work provided with scrolls or figures.
