DESlGN FOR A BUTTON-HOOK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,792, dated August 23, 1892. Application filed July 14, 1892. Serial No. 440,077. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be itknown that I, CHARLES \VESTER, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, and a resident of the city, county, and State of New York,have invented a new and useful Design for Button-Hooks; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
The object of my invention is to produce a novel design for button-hooks.
The accompanying drawing presents a vievs in elevation of a button-hook formed in accordance with my design.
The instrument as designed by me is composed of an open hook, a smooth and gentlytapering shank, an ornamented portion of the shank, and a terminal portion. The ornamented portion of the shank is made substantially cylindrical with a shallow groove a, formed about the same in a long spiral. A head I) may he formed at the hook end of the spiral groove and another head 0 at the handle end of the groove. Between the head 0 and the terminal portion or handle I have formed the shank with a circumferential series of longitudinal plane faces d d, substantially as shown; but the main feature of my design is the long spiral groove a.
I claim- The design for a button-hook, herein shown and described.
