DESIGN FO R A JUG.
T 0 all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that l, FREDERICK II. WEEKS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Akron, in the county of Summit and Stateof Ohio, have invented and produced e new and original Design for Jugs, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings,
Figures 1 and 2 are elevations taken at right angles to each other, the former being a side view and Fig. 3 is a horizontal section.
The leading feature of my design is that while the jug in lthe main is or may be approximately spherical it has two flattened sides located opposite each other, each of these sides having an outwardly-projecting rim A, inclosing, respectively, sunken panels B. The jug has adepending rim C, that serves as at Supporting-base. The handle D and nozzle E may be of ordinary form. The sunken penels B are usually ornamented in relief by representntions of, for instance, fruit, flowers, \ines,leaves, che, such ornamental Work in the present instance being at quineebrztnch bearing leaves and fruit. The rim C is shown ornaniented with en imitation of repousse work. There are plain bands G extending from base to nozzle, the base or lower leg of the handle being planted on one of these bands. There are also a. series of lateral bands H, usually ornalnented, in the present instance ornnmented with a. rude representa.- tion of a reptiles heed and neck, as :it 7L.. Between bands II is raised work representing' scales, as at I.
