DESIGN.
L. L. SAGENDORPH. SIDI/NG PLATE POB. BUILDINGS.
No. 20,825. Ezri Patented Jlne www, nl. QW 2% Ja ...W
#wg-W@ UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LONGLEY LEVY'IS SAGENDORIII, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA..
DESIGN FOR A SIDING-PLATE FOR BUILDINGS.
SPECIFICATION 'Ormng part of Design No. 20,825, dated June 9, 1891.
Application filed April 17, 1891. Serial No. 339,382. Term of patent 14 years.
To alt whom, t may concern,.-
Be it known that I, LONG-LEY LEWIS SA- GENDORPH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Metallic Sidings for Buildings, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
Figure l is a face View of a portion eta metallic siding-plate, illustrating my design. Fig. 2 is a cross-section on the dotted line 2 2 of Fig. l. Fig. 3 is a cross-section, on an enlarged scale, taken through a portion of the plate and two of the longitudinal grooves.
My design consists of a metallic plate having a series of continuous longitudinal grooves and alternating cross grooves intersecting said longitudinal grooves, each of said cross and'longitndinal grooves having therein a beaded corrugation A, the outer face of ,which is convex with the outer face of the plate, as shown. The sides cl` of each groove are at substantially right angles to the face of the plate and are slightly rounded at the angular points ai', as more clearly shown in Fig. 3.
The alternating cross-corrngations intersect with adjacent longitudinal corrugatons, as shown, said eorrugations being located Within the aforesaid longitudinal and cross grooves and convex with the outer face of the sheet.
The general effect of Iny design is to represent raised brick or stone Work, the eorrugations A simulating the mortar-line, While the angles a' simulate the edges of the brick.
What I claim is- The design for metallic siding herein set forth, consisting of continuons longitudinal grooves and alternating cross-grooves terminating in said longitudinal grooves, each of said grooves having therein a central beaded corrugation A, the alternating cross-corrugations terminating in the longitudinal corrugations, said corrngations being convex with the outer surface of the siding-plate, substantially as set forth.
LONGIIEY LEWIS SAGENDORPII.
