DESIGN FOR A SMOOTHlNG-IRON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18.694, dated October 23, 1888.
Application filed August 22, 1898. Serial No. 283,476. Term olpntent 14 years.
To a/ZZ whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, EDMoND BIRD Goslar, of Rogers, in the county of Bell and State of Texas, haveinvented acertain new and useful Design for SmoothngIrons; and I do hereby declare. the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which forms part of this specification.
My invention relates to adesign for su1oothing-irons; and it consists inthe representation of a locomotive upon the top of the body of the iron, so as to give the iron amore pleasing and attractive appearance, as will be more fully described hereinafter.
The accompanying drawing represents a side elevation of an iron which embodies my invention.
A represents the body of the iron, which may be of the usual shape. Upon the top of this body is the representation of a locomotive, C, provided with a cab, D. The handle G extends from the smoke-stack H to the cab1 25 and this handle is grooved and shaped so as to represent the smoke which is issuing from the smoke-stack.
The whole design presents a pleasing and attractive appearance, and adds greatly to the 3o beauty ofthe iron.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- A design for a smoothingiromconsisting of the representation ofalocomotive upon the top 35 of the iron,and having the handle representing smoke, substantially as shown and described.
