DESIGN FOR A HEATlNG-STOVE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No.1'7,145, dated March 1. 1887.
Application tiled December if tHF-fi. Serial No lllfi ll.
To all whom it may concern: 1
Be it known that 1. (inches 1). DANA, of, the city of St. Louis, State of Missouri, have invented a new Design for Heating-Stoves; and I do hereby declare that the accompanying engraving represents the Same.
As shown by this engraving, my stove is 1 hexagonal and oblong in shape. it has a removable plate fitting into the top plate of the t stove, the surface of the removable plate rising above the level of the top plate of the stove, so as to form an elevated surface thereon, as shown at a. On each of the two longest sides of the stove two convex oval forms are made in the casting, as shown at b b, the outline oi" these convex oval forms being, marked in the castings by the rings. The two long sides of the stove hearing the convex oval forms and rings are preferably made each in two sections, each section carrying a convex oval form and J ring, as before stated, and the two sections of 5 each of the long sides are made to abut against 1 each other, as shown. One of these sections on each of the long sides is cast with an overlapping flange, so as to form a vertical ridge. 0, between the two convex oval forms and rings on each of the two long sides of the stove.
'lhe front of my stove is provided with a door, 0, in the center of which is a register, d. A flange, 2, projects about the sides of the store and its bottom, this flange being much wider at the front part of the stove, as shown at 1:, and this front part, e. of the flange is provided with a plate, f, which covers the opening' into the ashpit.
There are four (4) legs. y. to the stove. of the form shown in the drawing.
I claim as my invention- 1. As a design for a heating-stove, a stove having on its top the elevated surface a and on its side the convex oval panels b b, substan tially as shown and described.
2. As a design for heating stoves, a store of rectangular form, having on its top the slightly-elevated surface a and on two paral' lel sides the convex oval panels I) b, substan tially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have allixed my signature, in presence of two witnesses, this 7th day of December, 1886.
