DESIGN FOR A BADGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,670, dated May 4, 1886.
Application filed March 5, 1886. Serial No. 194,172.
To all whom it Tmay concern.-
Be it known that I, FREDERICK W. CHILD, of Greenwich, in the county of Fairfield, State of Connecticut, haveinvented anew and original Design for Badges, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact descriptiomreference being bad to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specification, in which a face view of my newlydesigned badge is shown.
The leading feature of my design consists in the Maltese-cross shape of the badge, the representation of the base-ball, crossed bats and the base-ball cap on the badge, and the cross-bar.
- The badge a has the shape of a Maltese cross, and hasa roughened background and a beaded edge.
b represents the base-ball at the center of the badge; 0, crossed bats. the intersection of which is covered by the ball b.
Term of patent 3; years.
d is the base-ball players cap in the bottom end of the cross.
m is the crossbar.
Having thus described my design, I claim a new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The herein-descri bed design for badges, the same consisting of the Maltese-cross shape of the badge, a roughened background and beaded edge, the bats, and base-ball players cap, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed it this 4th day of March, 1886.
