SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,637, dated April 20, 1886.
Applicaiion filed November 2, 1885. Serial No. 181,710. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FREDERICK MANKEY, of \Nilliamsport, Lyeoming county, Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Surface ()rnamentation of Walls, 820., of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photographs, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a plan view, and Fig. 2 a longitudinal cross-section, of my new design.
My design consists of a series of raised bars, A B, not placed in juxtaposition, but having between them channels or grooves G, preferably rectangular in cross-section. Said bars have a rounded upper surface. The bars A are greater in width than the bars B, which alternate with them, and the channels 0 are narrower than the bars B. The bars B are of l sharper curvature than the bars A. The bars on their upper surfaces show adifferent grain 2o marking from that which appears in the channels (l.
I claim- The design for surface ornamentation of Walls, 8m, substantially as herein shown and 25 described, consisting in alternating wide and narrow elevations A B, having rounded surfaces, and intermediate channels,0, rectangular in cross-seetion,the said elevations on their uppersurfaces,showingadifferentgrain-mark- 3o ing from that which appears in said channels.
