UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE SPOON OR OTHER ARTICLE OF FLATWARE Lillian V. M. Helander, Meriden, Conn., assignor to The International Silver Company, Meriden, Conn., a corporation of Connecticut Application January 16, 1951, Serial No. 13,830
Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Lillian V. M. Helander, a citizen of the United States, residing at Meriden, county of New Haven, State of Connecticut, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Spoon or Other Article of Flatware, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
Fig. 1 is a front elevational view of a spoon showing the essential features of my new design in full lines;
Fig. 2 is an enlarged cross section taken on the line 22 of Fig. 1; and
Fig. 3 is an enlarged cross section taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
The design, which is symmetrical about the lengthwise center line of the handle, is characterized by a clear central panel extending from the top to the bottom of the handle with a single morning-glory at the top and a pair of morningglories arranged symmetrically adjacent the central panel near the middle of the handle and each adjacent an outwardly facing profile bud.
The back of the spoon conforms with the disclosures of Figs. 2 and 3, and may be plain or have surface ornamentation embodying the motif disclosed in Fig. 1.
The design is intended for use on sets comprising spoons, forks, knives and similar articles of table-ware.
I claim:
The ornamental design for a spoon or other article of flatware, substantially as shown and described.
LILLIAN V. M. HELANDER.
