DESIGN FOR A SLEEVE- BUTTON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,897, dated March 25, 1884.
Application filed November 3, 1883. Term of patent 14 years.
1'0 all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that we, FREDERICK F. BIOREN and JAMES C. BIOREN, citizens of the United States,. residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented a certain new and original Design for Sleeve- Buttons and other Jewelry; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the design, such as will enable others skilled inthe art to which itappertains to make and use the same, reference beinghad to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 represents a sleeve-button or other piece of-jewclry embodying our design. Fig. 2 is an enlarged plan of a portion of the same, and Fig. 3 an edge view, said figures being deemed sufiicient to illustrate the nature of the design, which consists in the sleeve-button or other piece of jewelry having the shape described.
The drawings represent a piece of jewelry with letter-shaped protuberances, which are outlined by regular surfaces 1) b, lying at an angle to the surface 6, as shown. lhe lettershaped projecting portions may have the configuration of any of the letters of the alphabet. Between the surfaces b b the raised surfaces are foliated and flowered in configuration, or are shaped in imitation of a mixture of flowers and leaves. The leaves and flowers may be formed in imitation of natural ones, or they may be conventionalized.
\Vhat we claim is In a sleeve-button or other similar article of jewelry, the design which consists in the initial-letter, as shown and described.
